GROVE CITY — The GFWC Grove City Woman's Club will host Reaching Out In Friendship at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at East Main Presbyterian Church, 120 East Main Street.

The speaker will be Chris Matta, ICU nurse, who will talk about his time in Haiti.

Lifesteps' Child Check team will conduct free screenings for children from birth to age 5 from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 1 at the Butler YMCA, 339 N. Washington St.Visits take about 30 minutes and results are discussed immediately. The APPRISE staff of the Butler County Area Agency on Aging will offer Medicare public meetings to provide information and explain the impact of health care reform on Medicare beneficiaries beginning Jan. 1.All meetings begin at 11 a.m. Meetings will be held at the following senior centers: Nov. 1, Evans City; Nov. 3, Cranberry Township; Nov. 8, Bruin; Nov. 9, Chicora; Nov. 10, Mars; Nov. 15, Slippery Rock.

A basket bingo event will be held Nov. 6 at the South Butler Fire Hall.
