Lynn R. 'Bob' Hupp
Lynn R. "Bob" Hupp, 75, of Seven Hills Road, Chicora, died at 6 a.m. Feb. 17 at the home of his daughter in Butler.
Born Oct. 2, 1934, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, he was the son of the late George D. Hupp Sr. and the late Annabelle Ritenour Hupp.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force on Oct. 1, 1973, after serving his country for 20 years and achieving the rank of technical sergeant.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicky Butler of Butler and Christine Charlton and her husband, George, of Butler; a son, Charles Hupp of Butler; 10 grandchildren, Steven Charlton, Charissa Doyle (Marty), Justin Charlton (Amber), Katie Butler Decker, Carla Butler Cox (Steven), Kelly Butler Christie (Joshua), Cassie Butler Wood (Joshua), Rachael Hupp Williams (Dustin), Geoffrey Hupp and Robert Hupp; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Lawver (Ken) of New Philadelphia; a brother, Don Hupp (Marilyn) of New Philadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He married Mary Ellen Vasser Hupp on June 29, 1956, and she died July 25, 2008. He also was preceded in death by five brothers, Brady, George Jr., Charles, Norm and Jack; and three sisters, Vesta "Beck," Mary and Joy.
<B>HUPP </B>— At Mr. Hupp's request, there is no visitation. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora. Full military honors will be provided by Chicora VFW and American Legion posts and the 99th Regional Readiness Command of Coraopolis. Inurnment will be in Hemphill Cemetery.
