Freeport retired couple wins $1 million in Pa. lottery
FREEPORT — Denise and James Cornman of Freeport won $1 million from an instant lottery Golden Millions game ticket at the Sunoco station in Natrona Heights Oct. 13.
Their win became public when they traveled to Harrisburg to claim their money from the Pennsylvania Lottery. The actual money will be sent to them.
"When she first called, she was crying, so I couldn't really understand her," James said, who eventually learned that they had won a $1 million prize.
"My husband and his friends always had a pact that if one of them was to win the lottery, they would go on a hunting trip together," Denise said. The retired couple is also making plans to remodel their home, purchase a new car and invest the rest of the prize money.
