HARRISBURG — Attorney General Tom Corbett appears to be building a solid lead in his bid for the governor's office.

A Franklin & Marshall College poll released today shows Corbett supported by 47 percent of likely Pennsylvania voters to 32 percent for Allegheny County executive Dan Onorato. About a fifth of voters remain undecided with a week until Tuesday's election.

A September poll by Franklin & Marshall showed Corbett with 36 percent to Onorato's 32 percent. A survey by a separate pollster last week showed the race tightening.

The men are vying for the governor's office now that term-limited Democrat Ed Rendell is finishing his maximum second term.

HARRISBURG — A new independent poll in Pennsylvania's race for U.S. Senate shows Republican Pat Toomey with an apparent lead over Democrat Joe Sestak.The Franklin & Marshall College poll released today shows Toomey supported by 43 percent of likely voters to Sestak's 36 percent.A September poll by Franklin & Marshall showed Toomey leading by 9 percentage points. Other pollsters last week showed the race tightening. Toomey and Sestak are vying for the seat held by five-term Sen. being Arlen Specter.The poll of 489 Pennsylvanians deemed likely to vote was conducted during the week ending Sunday. The sampling error margin is plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.

HARRISBURG — Former President Bill Clinton is expected to make a series of campaign stops in Pennsylvania stumping for Democratic candidates.Gubernatorial candidate Dan Onorato said Tuesday he expects to accompany the former president at three campaign rallies, including ones in Erie and Bethlehem on Thursday.The campaign of Democratic Senate candidate Joe Sestak also said he'll join Clinton at Thursday rallies at three southeastern Pennsylvania schools.Clinton was in northeastern Pennsylvania on Tuesday to help U.S. Rep. Paul Kanjorski. He also campaigned for Sestak in August and September. Sestak served on Clinton's national security staff in the White House.
