WASHINGTON, Pa. — A Texas truck driver who forced the emergency demolition of a Pennsylvania overpass when he struck it with his oversized truck was previously involved in a similar incident a few counties away.

Forty-nine-year-old Tony Kyle, of Cleveland, Texas, has pleaded guilty to 14 traffic citations stemming from Monday's crash that forced PennDOT to demolish a bridge over Interstate 70 in Eighty Four, Washington County.

Authorities in Cumberland County say Kyle did the same thing in 2008. In that case, they say a crane he was hauling struck a bridge and a chain hook flew off, injuring a woman who was riding in a nearby car.

Kyle was fined more than $65,000 after not attending the summary trial. The Washington Observer-Reporter reported Friday that Kyle has requested a hearing on those citations.
