Catherine J. Burr, 89, of Prospect died early Saturday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry Twp. after an illness.

She was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Washington County and was the daughter of Paul Sceau and Catherine DePossee Sceau.

She was a housewife who loved animals, farming and gardening. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church in Whitestown.

She is survived by two sons, Vincent E. Burr of Prospect and Paul L. Burr and his wife Tammi of Butler; two daughters, Catherine J. Burr and Cathy A. Burr, both of Prospect; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl V. Burr, whom she married April 29, 1950, and who died April 30, 1998. Her brother Paul Sceau and step-grandson Bob Brothers also preceded her in death.

Burr, who died Saturday Sept. 18, 2010, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Jay Bryant Funeral Home</B>, 443 Main St., Prospect.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church in Whitestown, with the Rev. Robert Allison officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Prospect.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church.
