HARRISBURG — The release of a second new poll in as many days bolstered the evidence Thursday that Democrat Joe Sestak has closed the gap behind Republican Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania's race for U.S. Senate.

Toomey was supported by 48 percent of likely voters surveyed in the Quinnipiac University poll to Sestak's 46 percent. The numbers include people who say they still might change their mind.

"Pennsylvania is a blue state and Democrats there have begun to come home," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the university's polling institute.
