W. Dale Gibson

<B>Gibson</B>

W. Dale "Gibby" Gibson, 88, of Chicora, died Friday at Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Cabot.

He was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Butler, the son of the late George Gibson and Eva Russell Gibson.

Gibby was a World War II Army veteran, having served as a tank commander. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 540 in Chicora, the New Castle Consistory and the Syria Shrine in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chicora. He also belonged to the VFW and American Legion in Chicora. Gibby was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed reading.

He retired as a bulk oil salesman after 43 years of service from Penreco.

Surviving are his daughters and their husbands, Linda Gibson Booher and Graydon "Tim" Booher and Kathy Gibson Dabrowski and Walter Dabrowski; five grandchildren, Mrs. Jim (Lisa) Sherron, Erika Booher, Stephen Booher, David Dabrowksi and Mrs. Mark (Kendra) Hill; and seven great grandchildren.Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. Hahn Gibson whom he married in 1940 and who died in 2002, his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

<B>GIBSON — </B>A memorial service for W. Dale Gibson, who died Friday Sept. 17, 2010, will be held at his church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Route 268, Chicora, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.Private burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery, Chicora.In lieu of flowers, send donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 100 W.
