Pearl C. Creese, 89, a resident of LAS Specialty Care Center, Mars, formerly of Hopewell Township and Zelienople, died Friday.

She was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Charles and Caroline Muth Alsnauer.

She was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ambridge, where she was a member of the Women of the Church group; a former adviser of the Rainbow Girls, Aliquippa Assembly; past Worthy High Preistess in the White Shrine of Jerusalem; past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Woodlawn chapter; member of the Beaver County Retired Teachers Association and State Retired Teachers Association. She retired in 1980 from the Hopewell Area School District, where she taught home economics for 28 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Caroline Myers; a son, Matthew John Myers, both of Ramsey, N.J.; a granddaughter, Katherine Myers (Peter) Marchetto, of Ithaca, N.Y.; and a sister, Norma Nedde of West Caldwell, N.J.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward J. Creese, and a brother, Raymond Alsnauer.

Creese, who died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the <B>JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME</B>, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday.Internment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.Members of the Order of the Eastern Star, Zelienople chapter, will conduct a service at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
