Carl L. Horstman
Carl L. "Pete" Horstman, Sr., 61, of Herman, passed away Wednesday evening at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born March 24, 1949, in Ellwood City, son of the late Francis "Frank" and June Walker Horstman.
Pete was a truck driver for Kennedy Diversified in Slippery Rock.
He was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption R.C. Church in Herman.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Alice A. Luich Horstman, whom he married July 5, 1969; two sons, Carl L. Horstman Jr. and his wife Alisha of Butler, Curt L. Horstman and Roni Brockman of Herman; one daughter; Dawn Michel and her husband Jim of Herman; one brother, Francis "Chuck" Horstman of Butler; four sisters; Deborah Fritz and her husband Fred of Valencia, Susan Zang and her husband Alvin of Herman, Cheryl Ray and her husband Robert of Herman, and Shirley Selfridge and her husband David of Butler; seven grandchildren, Tiffany, Molly, Kathleen, Alexis and Parker Horstman and Brittney and Brooke Michel.
<B>HORSTMAN — </B>Friends of Carl L. Horstman, who died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, will be received in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Avenue, Butler from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary of the Assumption R.C. Church at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Mark Carter, O.F.M. Cap, officiating.Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery.Members of Saint Mary of the Assumption R.C. Church will conduct a Scriptural Wake Service on Sunday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.Military Honors at the cemetery will be accorded by V.F.W. Post 249 and Lyndora American Legion Post 778.
