TAMAQUA — Pennsylvania State Police are searching for two men they say attacked and robbed a hunter on state game lands.

Police in Frackville say the 35-year-old man was robbed by armed men Saturday night after a day of archery hunting.

Authorities say the two men struck the victim with their weapons, took his cell phone and keys then drove away in his truck.

Investigators say the victim hid overnight in the game lands near Walker Township, Schyulkill County, then sought help the next morning. He was treated for his injuries at a hospital.

Police are searching for the man's vehicle.

PITTSBURGH — An agent who received commendations in 1994 for investigating a plot to bomb several New York City landmarks is the new Special Agent in Charge of the Pittsburgh field office of the U.S. Secret Service.Special Agent Eric Zahren graduated from Indiana (Pa.) University and began working for the Secret Service in the agency's Newark, N.J. field office in 1991. He also has worked overseas in Berlin, and at Secret Service headquarters in Washington, D.C.

ERIE — The 329th Medical Company left Erie for training Monday in Washington state before the U.S. Army Reserve unit is deployed to Kuwait later this year.This is the second trip overseas for 27-year-old Spc. Steve Kruse, of Corry. He is leaving two young sons with their mother, 23-year-old Kayla Kruse. She served with her husband in Iraq and is in the unit, but will remain home this time with their sons while her husband is deployed.A normal deployment is a year.

PITTSBURGH — A Western Pennsylvania man must spend 30 years in prison and pay $1,000 to one victim for computer child pornography he collected.A federal judge in Pittsburgh Monday sentenced 38-year-old Kelly Hardy of New Castle, who had pleaded guilty to possessing thousands of images and videos in October.Hardy's case was unusual in that a woman depicted on some videos sought $3.4 million for counseling, suffering and lost future wages. U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer awarded the woman, now 21, $1,000.Fischer agreed Hardy contributed to her suffering. The videos were widely distributed by an uncle who abused the woman as a child.
