1. Prepare to take the cutting.Always water the plant in the evening. The next morning, cut 8-inch-long stems of the healthiest shoots and place them in a plastic bag.2. Trim the cuttings.Recut the stems just under a node on the point on the stem from where the leaves grow. Fill the pots with propagating mix for the next steps.3. Scrap and strip the stems.Lightly scrape the stems and trim the soft growth from the tops. Make each cut about 4 inches long. Keep one pair of the leaves and strip the rest.4. Pot the cuttings.Use the small stick to make a 1.5-inch-deep hole in the potting mix. Dip the base of the cutting in some rooting gel, position it in the hole, then firmly pack the soil around the cutting.5. Cover and position the pots.Cut the bases from plastic soda bottles and cover each cutting to conserve moisture. Water the plants each day and position them in the shadeAfter six weeks, give the cuttings a gentle tug. If they seem firmly rooted, transplant them to potting soil and watch them grow.
