Heichel

Richard L. Heichel of Newport, N.C., passed away Wednesday in New Burn, N.C., after a lingering illness.

He was a career Army man who was a tank commander in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle E., and a son, Gary.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, of Newport; four sisters, Thelma Marra, Dorothy Mercatell and Donna Palmer, all of Butler, and Helen Liell of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Donald of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

<B>HEICHEL</B> — Funeral arrangements for Richard L. Heichel, who died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, are incomplete at this time. Interment will be at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
