The Butler chapter of the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) will host a 12-week Family to Family series from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting this week.

Classes are taught by certified trainers who themselves are members of families who have dealt with some aspect of mental illness. Registration is required.

CRANBERRY TWP — Dutilh Church's Cranberry Campus, 1270 Dutilh Road, will host Pumpkins for People festivities from Oct. 11 to 31.Activities include a pumpkin patch with more than 1,500 pumpkins, story times, hospitality booth, children's play area and garden seminars. BUTLER TWP — Fall leaf collection for Butler Township residents will be Oct. 18, Nov. 1 and 15 and Dec. 6.Leaves will be picked up on the regular pick-up day in bags no larger than 30 gallon biodegradable paper bags.Bags will be offered for 25 cents each from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 9 and 30 and Nov. 13 at the Butler Township Municipal Building Garage, 290 S. Duffy Road.Bags are also available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the municipal building.

The following American Red Cross blood drives are scheduled for October:• 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, American Legion, 308 W. New Castle St., Zelienople• 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot• Noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 20, Halloween Blood Donor Bash, Butler Days Inn, Heritage Hall, 139 Pittsburgh Road, Butler.

The third annual Butler County 4-H benefit auction will be held Friday at the Butler Farm Show Grounds, Route 68 West of Butler.Doors open for item viewing at 4:30 p.m. and the auction begins at 6 p.m. featuring auctioneer C. Sherman Allen.Refreshments and homemade bake sale items will also be available. Proceeds benefit the Butler County 4-H Program and 4-H Development Scholarship Fund.For information, call 724-287-4761.

SAXONBURG — The Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance Division is currently conducting its annual subscription campaign for 2010-2011. Fees are due Oct. 15.To subscribe, call 724-352-3300.
