Butler police arrested a city man Tuesday night soon after he allegedly robbed a woman of her purse in the parking lot of the YMCA on North Jackson Street.

Officers were waiting for the 40-year-old Robert Lee Henderson when he drove back to his North Main Street apartment shortly after the purse-snatching.

Police previously identified Henderson as a suspect in three other purse-snatchings this month and two more back in March.

"He matches the description in the other robberies," said Butler Police Chief Tim Fennell.

Fennell would not disclose other evidence that led police to suspect Henderson of the other crimes.

Henderson is currently only charged with Tuesday's purse-snatching. He is in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.
