Gregory D. Cooper, 56, of Butler passed away at 1:08 a.m. Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 2, 1954, in Butler, the son of the late Robert F. Cooper and the late Audrey (Gold) Cooper.

Gregory had been a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

He received his bachelor's from Arkansas College and his master's from Slippery Rock University.

He loved animals, flowers, reading books and collecting things.

Surviving is his brother, Robert D. Cooper of Butler.
