Russell Bootwright of California (Pa.) University scored a header in the fifth minute of the second overtime as the Vulcans knocked off the No. 13 ranked Slippery Rock University men's soccer team 1-0 Friday.

The Vulcans (4-1-1, 1-1-1) outshot The Rock 14-7 and had 7-2 shots on goal.

Greg Blum made six saves in the loss for SRU (5-2-1, 3-2).

SRU extended its winning streak to four matches with a 3-1 triumph (25-22, 25-27, 25-23, 25-23) over Indiana (Pa.) and its first home-opening win since 2006.Kaylee Smith and Sarah Cadwallader had 14 kills apiece while Smith added 19 digs for SRU.Kristin Slavoski added nine kills, and Anna Bixler and Kim Wilson had 26 and 17 assists, respectively.

California (Pa.) (7-0-1, 3-0-1) used a pair of second-half goals and an own goal to blank host SRU 3-0.The Vulcans' Tonya Fabian had a shot deflected into the net by a Rock defender in the 63rd minute.Channing Wimer and Bethany Smyda also added goals.SRU (4-3, 2-3) was outshot 12-8 overall, 7-3 on goal.
