John W. Boice, 84, of Butler passed away Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

Born Dec. 1, 1925, in Saxonburg, he was the son of Walter and Florence (Behning) Boice.

John was a member of the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He worked as a precision grinder for Oberg Industries and Penn United Technologies. He enjoyed farming.

Surviving are his loving wife, Carole (Peplowski) Boice, who he married Sept. 30, 1978; his two sons, Robert Boice of California and William Boice of Butler; his two daughters, Linda Schaeffer of California and Michelle Parsons of North Carolina; his brother, Donald Boice; his sister, Jean Schaffer of Minnesota; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
