Virginia R. Randy
Virginia R. Benetti Randy of Beechwood Boulevard, Butler, died at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday in the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
Born Sunday, Aug. 5, 1934, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Louis Benetti, a native of Italy, and the late Lucy Emanuele Benetti.
Virginia's career began at Penn Dixie and Armco, and she retired from Rockwell International after 30 years as an executive secretary to the plant manager in New Castle.
She attended Penn State University.
Virginia was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she actively volunteered with the bereavement ministry, office ministry, community meal ministry, recess ministry, prison ministry, prayer chain and vacation Bible school. She also volunteered at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Close to her heart was the Butler High School Band and Orphans UnLimited in Mozambique, Africa, which she passionately supported.
She is survived by her daughter, Lucille V. Ferk-Savelli of Erie; two grandsons, Justin L. Ferk of Boca Raton, Fla., and Michael D. Savelli of Erie; one brother, Gerald "Chook" Bennetti of Butler, her former husband, Kenneth G. Lucas of Butler; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Virginia was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Frank and Robert Bennetti.
<B>RANDY </B>— There will be no visitation. Funeral services for Virginia R. Benetti Randy, who died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. J. David Panther officiating.
