VERONA — Joe Boros of Treesdale Golf and Country Club and John Aubrey Sr. of Aubrey's Dubbs Dred each carded a par 70 to tie for fourth place at the March of Dimes Golf Classic Invitational Monday at Longue Vue Club.

Roy Vucinich of Allegheny Country Club won the event with a 65. Rob McClellan of Butler Country Club tied for 11th with a 73.

In the team event, Aubrey was joined by amateurs Tom Smock, Bill Suffren, Jack Skidmore and Geoffrey Smock to capture first place with a 59-59-118 (a two best of balls of five, full handicap, par 140).

HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania Game Commission officials Friday held a public drawing to award 50 elk licenses for the 2010 season.All 50 hunters selected to receive a license will be mailed a confirmation letter in about a week.There were 18,253 individuals who applied for the drawing. An additional 487 applicants only bought a preference point for this year and weren't included in the drawing.Applicants can visit www.pgc.state.pa.us to find out if they won a license Presently, the status for all is listed as "Pending." Once the database is updated, which is expected by Friday, those who were selected for an elk license will see the status changed to "Awarded," as well as the designation of the Elk Hunt Zone and whether they were awarded an antlered or antlerless elk license.Those not selected will see the status changed to "Unsuccessful."
