New attorney in cop slayings appointed
PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Judge Jeffrey Manning appointed a new attorney to represent Richard Poplawski, who is accused of killing three Pittsburgh police officers.
James DePasquale was appointed to head the defense team because public defender Lisa Middleman will now focus on the death penalty phase of the trial.
