Elizabeth A. Matson, 71, of Butler, passed away Friday at the V.N.A. Inpatient Hospice following a battle with cancer.

She was born in Butler on March 26, 1939, daughter of Catherine Carbin Bergbickler and the late Charles Bergbickler.

She was a homemaker and a member of Grace at Calvary Church.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis C. Matson, to whom she was married for 35 years. They were married on June 21, 1975.

Also surviving are a son, Gerald E. Matson and his wife Barb, of Orlando, Fla., two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Johnston of Butler and Mrs. Lisa Sloan of Grove City; her mother, Catherine Carbin Bergbickler of Butler; a brother, Ronald Bergbickler and his wife Shirley, of Butler; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Leeson of Butler; eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bergbickler and one brother.
