IN BRIEF
RIMERSBURG — Union High School head football coach Al Pryor collapsed after practice Wednesday from apparent dehydration.
Union assistant coach Dave Louder said Pryor lost consciousness during a meeting and was taken to Clarion Hospital.
Louder said Pryor was moved to UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh for further observation.
"He's getting better," Louder said. "He probably won't be anywhere near a football field Friday night. It was a rotten day, but luckily none of the players saw him collapse."
Union opens its season Friday at Redbank Valley. It wasn't immediately known who would take over coaching responsibilities for Pryor if he is unable to be with the team.
Union athletic director Scott Kindel could not be reached for comment.
