The Associated Artists of Butler County hosts "From Brooklyn to Butler: A Benefit Show, Take Two!" at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Art Center, 344 S. Main St. Doors open at 7 p.m.

This second installment in the series will feature a former Butler resident who is currently living in Brooklyn, Spencer Keasey Scanlon, with performances by Brooklyn songwriters Christopher Paul Stelling and Alana Stewart.

Also part of the evening will be a set by Satin Gum, featuring Butler's Dan Vavro on the drums.

Stelling took the AABC stage for the concert series' debut in March.

"He has managed to revive a sense of musical storytelling and mastery over his instrument that was thought to be long since forgotten -- especially in this modern age," said Paul Scanlon, AABC president.

Singer and songwriter Stewart was born in New Mexico just footsteps away from the test site of the first atomic bomb.

"I was born in a place famous for creating the most destructive weapon of all time. Today I live in New York, home of the 9-11 attacks," said Stewart. "It just seems to me with so many psychopaths trying to rapture the peace and upset the people, I have to use all the tools I have to give us some serenity back ¿¿ and singing works," she said.

The indie-pop trio Satin Gum is from Pittsburgh but features Butler natives Vavro along with Travis Craig. Their latest release is "EP2."

The cover charge for the "From Brooklyn to Butler" concert is $5. Seating is nightclub style with small tables seating four guests each. Guests may take their own refreshments. Proceeds benefit The Art Center.
