ARCA continues full schedule of events
Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts was created in 2005 under the direction of Patricia and Arthur Steffee. The organization was founded to provide musical performances and cultural events to the Allegheny-Clarion River Valley, which includes Clarion, Venango, Armstrong, Mercer and Crawford counties.
ARCA's annual performance series presents programs in Lincoln Hall, located atop the Foxburg Free Library at 42 S. Palmer St. in Foxburg. Newly restored and inaugurated in 2006, the hall retains a 19th-century charm and features many authentic design features as well as the original hand painted stage curtain.
The facility seats 130 people and is home to a 1929 Wurlitzer theater organ that contains 17 ranks of pipes.
ARCA also hosts events at the Events Barn at RiverStone Farm on Foxview Road near Landers Lane in Foxburg.
"One of ARCA's mission tenets is to contribute to the general well being of the community," said ARCA executive director Drew Orient.
"We want to do our fair share promoting Foxburg and the area as a destination for tourists and the region populace."
To accomplish that goal, ARCA hosts community-wide theme festival weekends that have included a Scottish festival, Maple Syrup event in the early spring and a Dogwood Festival in May.
ARCA also participates in the Foxburg Food, Wine and Arts Festival in October as well as a classical music festival and various holiday events.
