SLIPPERY ROCK — The Old Stone House celebrates events of the Civil War Sept. 18 and 19 with a re-enactment.

The free event is being held in conjunction with the 10th PA Reserves Mercer Rifles re-enactment group.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

The program highlights historic events through drills and educational programs. Demonstrations include camp life, cooking, blacksmithing, children's games and music.

The Old Stone House will be open for guided tours. Refreshments will be available.

CRANBERRY TWP — Revolution Student Ministries will host a Battle of the Bands at 6 p.m. Sept. 18 at Victory Family Church, Route 19.Up to five bands will compete for a cash prize of $500.
