Slayton

Beverly Slayton, 69, of Charlottesville, Va., died July 5 at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Born Aug. 14, 1940, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ora Baldiga.

She graduated from Butler High in 1958 and attended business school in Pittsburgh.

Beverly worked in a bank as an items reconciler. She started with Union National Bank in Pittsburgh and retired from National City Bank after 32½ years.

Beverly was a wonderful mother and friend. She had a great sense of humor, and you could always plan on having a good laugh when you were around her.

Beverly is survived by a son, Barry Slayton of Charlottesville.

<B>SLAYTON</B> — A memorial service for Beverly Slayton, who died Monday, July 5, 2010, was held July 14 at the First Baptist Church, Park Street, Charlottesville, Va., with the Rev. Leon Castle officiating.A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. July 27 at the New Testament Baptist Church, 437 N. Duffy Road, Butler, with the Rev. Steve Fisher officiating. Following a luncheon at the church, burial will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O.
