Mary K. Pawlowicz, 96, of Whitestown Road, Butler, died Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

She was born Dec. 5, 1913, in Butler, a daughter of the late Peter and Natalie Belelsky Kalanich.

Mrs. Pawlowicz was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She also worked as a candymaker at Peter's Chocolate Shoppe in Butler for many years.

Mary was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora.

Two of her favorite pastimes were vegetable gardening and playing bingo.

Her husband, John S. Pawlowicz Sr., who she married Aug. 8, 1934, preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1984. Four sisters and an infant brother also preceded her.

Surviving are her son, Dr. John S. Pawlowicz and his wife, Louise Pawlowicz, of Butler; three daughters and their husbands, Marilyn and Samuel Fazzino, Delores and William Long, and Joyce and James Keefer, all of Butler; and a sister, Ann Spinder of Mars. Fourteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

<B>PAWLOWICZ</B> — There will be no visitation. Private funeral services for Mary K. Pawlowicz, who died Friday, July 16, 2010, were at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B> in Butler and entombment took place at the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
