Eileen (Cohen) Markowitz, 80, passed away Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice Center. She was from Pittsburgh and the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

She was born May 6, 1930, in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of Louis and Pauline (Kalson) Cohn.

She is survived by her children, Jamie Markowitz (Jane DelFavero) of Los Angeles, Connie Ivill (Robert) of Butler, Diane Camus (Donald) of Hartsville, S.C., and Richard Markowitz of Pittsburgh; and her cherished grandchildren, Samantha Ivill, Danielle Camus and Douglas Camus. She also is survived by a sister, Miriam Berer of Pittsburgh, and several generations of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Merle Markowitz; and two brothers.

She was co-owner of Markowitz & Hass Printing Inc. and also of the C.E. Visminas Christian Resources.

She was an avid Steelers and sports fan. She loved her family and friends, Pittsburgh, operas, symphonies, the Pittsburgh Zoo and cooking for everyone.

She dedicated her time to the Squirrel Hill/Shadyside Lion's Club and many volunteer and charitable organizations.
