Archie Lloyd Groves

Archie Lloyd Groves, 80, of Hampton Township died peacefully at his home Friday.

He was the beloved husband of Alice (Kiser) Groves.

Born Nov. 1, 1929, in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harry and Melda (Wiles) Groves. They soon moved to East Brady, where he spent his childhood.

Archie served proudly as a Marine in the Korean War, and he then earned an electrical engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for PPG industries and retired in 1990.

He enjoyed his family, friends, golfing and bowling and was an active member of the Parkwood Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of Hampton Township; a son, Dennis (Debbie) Groves of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Lorraine (Mark) Hergenreder of Chelsea, Mich.; a daughter, Karen (Larry) Hayward of Hampton Township; grandchildren, Christopher (BreAnna) Groves, Ashley Groves and Jonathon Groves of Lexington, Ky., and Emma Hergenreder of Chelsea, Mich.; a sister, Janet Gibson; and two sisters-in-law, Alice Groves and Rosella Groves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Olan (Lucille) Groves, William Groves, Harry Groves, and a brother-in-law, George Gibson.

<B>GROVES</B> — Visitation for Archie Lloyd Groves, who died Friday, July 16, 2010, was Sunday at the <B>Herbert R. King Jr. Funeral Home</B>, Allison Park.
