Frazak

Mary E. Frazak, 92, of Cabot passed away Saturday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Feb. 5, 1918, in Curtisville, Pa., she was the daughter of John and Catherine (Kosior) Gloz.

At 14 years old, Mary and her family bought 100 acres of farmland on which they raised beef and dairy cattle, chickens and pigs and grew a variety of crops. For many years farm work was done by hand, including the cutting of field corn with a corn knife and milking cows by hand. Despite the hard work, Mary enjoyed the land, her home, family and friends.

Mary was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.

She married Edward W. Frazak on Nov. 27, 1947. Mary and Ed celebrated 43 years of marriage before Ed's death on April 7, 1991.

Together they raised two sons, Thomas and Gerald, and enjoyed some travel and dancing at Polish Festivals.

Mary was a wonderful and much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. She was an avid gardener, who grew gorgeous flowers and delicious fruits and vegetables and enjoyed cooking, baking and dancing — especially polkas.

She was proud of her Polish heritage. She and her husband enjoyed their travels and dancing at Polish Festivals in Hawaii, Las Vegas, Florida, Chicago, New York and Seven Springs.

Surviving Mary are her sons, Thomas (Patricia) Frazak of Madison, Wis., and Gerald Frazak of Winfield Township; three grandchildren, Leanne (Rob) Sherburne of Waterloo, Iowa, Melanie (Andrew) Zamborsky of Waterloo and Jeffrey Frazak of Milwaukee, Wis.; a great-grandson, William Patrick Sherburne; three nieces, Patty (Bill) Long, Jean (Bob) Fusco and Joan (Frank) Conn; and one nephew Bob (Virginia) Gloz.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Joseph and Frank Gloz, and one sister, Sophie Samuel.

<B>FRAZAK</B> — Friends of Mary E. Frazak, who died Saturday, July 17, 2010, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Herman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the Frazak Family requests that memorial donations be made to the St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church.Mary's family wants to thank the Saxonburg Ambulance staff and volunteers, the entire staff of the Saxony Health Center, Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, pastoral care staff, Eucharist ministers and most especially Margi Kladny, Fr. Ward Stakem and Fr. Mark Carter from St. Mary's for the wonderful care and loving attention they provided to their beloved mother.
