Pearl A. Stewart, 70, of Hilliards passed away at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at her home.

She was born July 7, 1940, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Douglas Smith Sr. and Annie Marie Richards Smith.

She retired as a clerk typist from Slippery Rock University.

She was a member of the Ridgeville United Methodist Church, where she served as a trustee.

She also was the magistrate and notary for Washington Township and was a board member for Rosewood Cemetery and the SRU Federal Credit Union.

She was a member of the Ridgeville Card Club, the Moniteau Area Meals on Wheels and Thrift Store and was the president of AFSCME at Slippery Rock University.

She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Ann Stewart Zedreck and her husband, Richard, of Hilliards; one son, Gary Lee Stewart and his wife, Brenda, of Hilliards; four grandchildren, Richard Zedreck Jr., Gabriella Stewart, Courtney Stewart and Autumn Stewart; and one brother, Arthur Douglas Smith Jr. of Santa Maria, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Stewart, who died Jan. 24, 2002; her mother, Annie Marie Richards Smith, who died Dec. 22, 2001; and her father, Arthur Douglas Smith Sr., who died Dec. 4, 1969.

<B>STEWART </B>— Friends of Pearl A. Stewart, who died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Rosewood Cemetery.
