Catherine A. Miller
Catherine A. Miller, 97, of Fombell, formerly of Lancaster Township, died Friday at UPMC Passavant hospital, McCandless Township.
Born Nov. 15, 1912, in Cranberry Township, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Householder Deemer.
Mrs. Miller had been an active member of St. John's Lutheran (Stone) Church for many years, serving as a ladies aide. She also had attended the Concord United Methodist Church with her daughter and family.
She and her late husband, Ernest, worked together and raised their children on the family farm.
In addition to farming, she enjoyed crocheting and growing flowers in her garden.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Kaufman and her husband, Ronald, of Fombell; a son, Howard "Butch" Miller of Middle Lancaster; a sister, Lorraine Goehring of Cranberry Township; a brother, Oran Leroy Deemer of Zelienople; five grandchildren, Clifford (Kim) Kaufman, Arnold (Lynn) Kaufman, Cathy (Jim) Spiker, Jeffrey (Jodi) Miller and Bradley (Susan) Miller; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ernest A. Miller, on Sept. 12, 1987. They were married Dec. 17, 1935. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Deemer Rice; and four brothers, Carl, Calvin, Clair and Howard Deemer.

Grandview Ave., Zelienople, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Stone Church, 235 Stone Church Road, Lancaster Township, where services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Robert P. Coval, officiating.
