Butler golf pro fails to make cut at PGA tourney

SHEBOYGAN, Wisc. — Rob McClellan, Butler Country Club's golf pro, did not make the cut at the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits golf course.

He ended the second round Friday at 12 shots over par. That included a two-shot penalty for being late for a tee time.

"I was 31 seconds late to the tee," said McClellan.

"It's a good lesson learned, and something you can teach everybody back home. You've got to be there (on the tee)."

He did have a strong finish with at least par on seven of the final eight holes.

McClellan had entered his second round at 75, three over par. He shot 81 on the second round.
