Paul R. Meier, 79, of Butler died at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Sugar Creek Rest in Worthington.

Born Aug. 21, 1930, in Butler, he was the son of the late Frank A. Meier and Alma Brucker Meier.

Mr. Meier attended the Oak Hills Christian Church.

He was a state journeyman tool and die maker. In his earlier years, he worked for Butler Stamping. Then he was the owner and operator of Meier Stamping Works in Butler.

Mr. Meier was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.

He was a lifetime member of the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club.

Mr. Meier is survived by one brother and his wife, Ralph H. and Sophie Meier of Butler; and one sister, Alberta M. Hindman of North Washington.

Mr. Meier was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Maxine Meier, who passed away April 2, 2003; one sister, and three brothers.
