The Pittsburgh Gospel Choir is seeking new volunteer members, especially those with the lower voices of tenor and bass, but all singers may audition.

The Pittsburgh Gospel Choir is a 50 to 70 voice group that performs classical, spirituals and traditional and contemporary gospel music.

Voice assessment auditions will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday as well as Aug. 16, 23 and 30 and at 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at East Liberty Presbyterian Church, 616 S. Highland Ave., Pittsburgh.

Those auditioning should be prepared to perform simple vocal exercises and to sing a solo of their own choosing.

The 2010-11 season will have performances in Pittsburgh and the tri-State area. Rehearsals are at 7 p.m. Mondays at East Liberty Presbyterian Church.
