Harford

Rita M. Harford, 84, of Butler, formerly of Hampton Township, died Saturday in the Kittanning Care Center, Kittanning.

Mrs. Harford was a nursing assistant with the VA Medical Center.

Rita was proud to let everyone know she was a member of the first class to graduate from Hampton High School.

She is survived by sons, William E. (Janice "Beth") Harford of Ross Township, John (Linda) Harford of Hampton Township and Robert (Nanette) Harford of West Deer Township; a daughter, Margaret "Peggy" (Kevin) Mechling of Butler; granddaughters, Marla, Jessica and Ashley; and great-granddaughters, Madelyn, Abigail, Alaina and Ava.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Ernest Harford Jr., who died April 21, 2009.
