Fester

Vera M. Fester, 80, of Parker, formerly of Mars, died Saturday afternoon at the VNA Hospice in Butler.

She was born in Adams Township, Oct. 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Harold D. and Setta Frederick Davidson.

A homemaker, Mrs. Fester enjoyed casino gambling and traveling.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Homer R. Fester, whom she married Oct. 27, 1951; a daughter, Terry M. Sestrich and her husband, Joseph, of Columbus, Ohio; and two sons, Gerald R. Fester of Parker and Cary J. Fester and his wife, Cheryl, of Butler. She was the grandmother of Erin Worth (Daniel), Jason and Kevin Sestrich, Mallory and Nicholas Fester, and Kristy Boyle (Brian); and great-grandmother of Carter, Garrett and Harley Lynn. Also surviving are six sisters, Jane Kosinski (Ed) of Valencia, Helen Harter (Dale) of Butler, Betty Raith of Saxonburg, Nancy Bodema of Butler and Gloria Davidson and Bonnie Everly, both of Mars; two brothers, Ralph Davidson (Christine) of Butler and Chris Davidson (Gail) of Zelienople; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gary D. Fester; a granddaughter, Kelli Fester; a sister, June Davidson; and three brothers, Robert A., Donald and James Davidson.

Fester, who died Saturday, July 24, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc.</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
