Charles M. "Sonny" Stang, 69, of Zelienople died peacefully Saturday at his home surrounded by his family.

Born May 26, 1941, in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Myrle and Gladys (Huffman) Stang.

Mr. Stang graduated from Zelienople High School in 1960. He retired from Halstead Industries and, along with his wife, owned and operated Will's Sports Shop in Zelienople.

Mr. Stang was a member of St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He also was a member of the Zelienople-Harmony Sportsmen Club and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He loved fishing and enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, and especially helping his family and friends

He is survived by his wife, Wilma (Moore) Stang, who he married July 20, 1963; two children, Buddy Stang (Missy) of Ellwood City and Lora Luffy (Jim) of Penn Township; a brother, Len Stang (Cyndy) of Zelienople; and seven grandchildren, Tyler, Katie and Cody Stang, and Reba, Jake, Sarah, and Zac Luffy. He also is survived by his lifelong friend, Fred Haushalter of Zelienople; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

<B>STANG</B> — Friends of Charles M. "Sonny" Stang, who died Saturday, June 19, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave. Zelienople. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W.
