PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police say two teens are dead after a shootout in East Liberty. Authorities say Daniel Hawkins and Diontre Dean, both 17, died after the shooting early this morning.

Police say the teens, armed with guns and their faces covered, approached a dark-colored car stopped near an intersection. Both teens were struck in the exchange of gunfire.

Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene. Dean was struck in torso and fled a couple of blocks on foot before dying.
