Geraldine A. (Greenwald) Steele, 78, of West Main Street, Ripley, N.Y., formerly of Butler, died Monday at her home.

Geraldine was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Steven A. and Anne (Baulmer) Greenwald.

A resident of Ripley, N.Y., for the past year, she moved from Butler to be closer to her son.

Geraldine retired in 2002 from the corporate offices of the National Record Co. of Pittsburgh as a bookkeeper.

She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles and the lottery. However, her greatest love was for her family.

She is survived by her son, Dennis M. Steele and his wife, Cheryl, of Ripley, N.Y.; her grandchildren who include, Michael D. and Megan M. Steele, both of Butler, and Cody E. Troutner of Ripley, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry D. Steele; her sister, Ethel R. Kalchthaler; and her brothers, John and Charles Greenwald.
