PITTSBURGH — A Western Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of his ex-girlfriend and her teenage daughter the day after he broke up with the woman.

The plea that 31-year-old Durand Alexander of McKees Rocks entered Tuesday before Allegheny County Judge Edward Borkowski means a life sentence with no chance of parole.

Police said Alexander killed 43-year-old Sherry Crawley and 15-year-old Tia Crawley on April 7, 2009. Their bodies were found in their home in Stowe Township by the woman's other daughter.

Police said Alexander told them he shot Sherry Crawley because he was jealous, then killed her daughter because she was a witness.
