PENN TWP — Four of six Butler Country Club divers placed no worse than third at Monday's Western Pennsylvania Country Club Swimming Association Diving Championships.

Ben Lowrey won the boys age 11-to-13 division while Ary Napora was second in the girls 10-and-under. Zach Misitis in boys 11-13 and Lea Welker in girls 14-over placed third.

Placing eighth were Lydia Walls in girls age 11-13 and Molly Lowrey in girls 14-over.

The swimming championships are July 20 at Edgewood Country Club.

BUTLER TWP — Six Butler High wrestlers were named academic honorable mentions by the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association.The six include 189-pound graduate Mike Scialabba (27-8 record, 3.45 grade point average) and incoming seniors Eric Tuck (27-8, 3.775), Cody Hartman (18-7, 3.28), Cole Baxter (37-3, 3.67), Mike Crawford (30-5, 3.44) and Matt Pribis (26-11, 3.80).Wrestlers must carry at least a 3.2 GPA and a 60-percent winning rate to be eligible.

Saxonburg and Meridian face off in the Butler County American Legion Baseball Tournament championship game at 6 p.m. Saturday at Pullman Park.If Saxonburg wins, a second game will be played at 8.

GIBSONIA — Center Township resident Marissa DeCola took first place in the Girls 16-to-18 Junior Golf Tournament at Pittsburgh National Golf Club by shooting a 71 Thursday.
