Ruth I. Lachman
Ruth I. Lachman, 91, of Plum died Monday at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Center, Monroeville.
Born Nov. 25, 1918, in Prospect, she was the daughter of Edward W. and Elizabeth Myers Barkley.
Mrs. Lachman was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Murrysville. She enjoyed sewing with the ladies sewing group at church, gardening, bird watching, and loved her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Ray to various places of historic interest.
She is survived by four nephews, the Rev. Kenneth Barkley and his wife, Bea, of Willow Grove, Dale M. Barkley and his wife, Dina, of Harmony, Grant Barkley of Beaver Valley and David Bareis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Lachman, who she married Sept. 6, 1965, and who died Jan. 16, 1988; a brother, Pierce E. Barkley, who died Jan. 26, 1979; and a sister, Katherine Bareis, who died Oct. 6, 1976.
