Richard R. Flick Sr.
Richard R. Flick Sr. of Mount Lebanon died Friday after a courageous 18-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born Feb. 23, 1936, in Butler, he was a son of the late Alex and Elizabeth (Dexter) Flick.
He was the beloved husband of Rita (Goldbach) Flick and the late Beverly (Wonderly) Flick; devoted father of Richard R. Flick Jr. of Elizabeth, Brian K. Flick (Kathy) of Baltimore and Leslie A. Green (Dennis) of Upper St. Clair; stepfather of Becky H. Sheen (Paul) of Coraopolis; proud and loving "Bap" of Tyler, Mayson, Kendall and Payton Green, who were the love of his life; and brother of James Flick (Wealtha) of Baltimore, Donna Gates (Gary), Virginia Flick (Russ Bellis) of Butler and Bud Kartman of Whitehall.
Dick was an avid educator with the Mount Lebanon School District and encouraged all students to be the best they could be.
Dick graduated from Butler High School and Slippery Rock University with a bachelor's degree in education. He earned a master's degree from Indiana (Pa.) University and his principal certificate from the University of Pittsburgh.
