McConnells Mill State Park, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, has opened the old mill through Labor Day. "Wild Teas" will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday and "Survive the Outdoors" at 2 p.m. Sunday. Mill hours are 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Interpretive tours of the historic mill, lasting about 45 minutes, will be available at 1 and 2 p.m. Fridays and at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Moraine State Park will be the site of "Kayaking and Dinner" starting at 2 p.m. Saturday with a fun paddle. To reserve a kayak or to register, call the park office at 724-368-8811. There is a fee of $12. A scavenger hunt at the beach is set for 2 p.m. Sunday. Meet the park naturalist in front of the concession stand at Lakeview Beach on the North Shore to get a list of items to search for in the Lakeview area. Those who find all of the scavenger hunt items will win a prize. Call 724-368-8811.
