Kirk finished with a 16-under 264 at the 6,783-yard Hardscrabble Country Club course. He saved par on each of his final three holes to win his first tournament as a professional and take over the top spot on the Nationwide's money list. He also secured his spot on the PGA Tour next year.
ERIE — Grove City High School catcher Jeff Revesz and pitcher Randy Risch made first team all-District 10 baseball this season.They were also Region 5 Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year, respectively.In softball, Grove City catcher Phylicia King and second baseman Naomi Leonard made Region 5 first team. Slippery Rock catcher Kalene Ireland, pitcher Morgan Robinson and designated player Kara Kerr made second team.Grove City shortstop Rochelle Bonner, outfielder Victoria Sheffell and pitcher Alicia Feather made second team as well.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace has signed to a multiyear contract extension that gives the team continuity among its leadership.The team announced Sunday that Wallace had agreed to the deal, though neither the Grizzlies nor Wallace would discuss its length or financial terms. The team also signed coach Lionel Hollins to a three-year contract in April.Wallace watched six players audition for the Grizzlies, including Kentucky forward Patrick Patterson, West Virginia forward Devin Ebanks and Mississippi guard Terrico White, who is from Memphis.
LIESTAL, Switzerland — Lance Armstrong's bid to win the Tour of Switzerland came up just short Sunday, with the Texan finishing second by 12 seconds to Frank Schleck of Luxembourg.The seven-time Tour de France was seventh overall going into the stage, but surged into contention by placing 11th in the 16.6-mile time trial around Liestal, finishing in 33 minutes, 30 seconds to trail stage winner Tony Martin of Germany by 1:09.Armstrong wrapped up his Tour de France preparations on a high note following bouts of illness and a crash earlier this season.
