PITTSBURGH — Police have arrested two teen gunman for allegedly killing three people during a home-invasion robbery at a Pittsburgh-area housing complex and say they're attempting to determine if the suspects are connected to a pair of similar robberies at the same complex.

Deanthony Kirk, 19, and Isaiah Hereford, 17, both of McKeesport, were charged Friday with counts including criminal homicide, robbery, aggravated assault conspiracy and attempted homicide in the home invasion that left three people dead at the Crawford Village housing complex in McKeesport early Tuesday.

Allegheny County Police Superintendent Charles Moffatt said Kirk was arrested in an unrelated burglary on Wednesday and further investigation led police to charge him and Hereford with Tuesday's killings.

The two men are accused of killing Jahard Poindexter, 30; Tre Madden, 17; and Angela Sanders, 23.

Moffatt couldn't explain why the suspects allegedly started shooting even after the victims offered no resistance.

"You know, just like other murders, they make no sense to anybody," Moffatt said. "This was just a robbery that went — they carried it one step further."
