August Bastin

In loving memory of August Bastin.

This Father's Day is unlike any other,

Cause just last week they buried my father.

So your present this year Dad, won't be bought from a store,

Your gift is a story that means so much more.

In the small town of Saxonburg, people's lives are entwined,

"I know Augie" they'd say, "He's one of a kind".

You used your profession to help those in need,

Lending a hand, passing on a good deed.

Your sense of humor made people smile,

Everyone needs that once in awhile.

You loved your family to the very end,

And you died as you lived - everyone's friend.

A precious soul has been taken away,

Oh what I would give for one more day.

But I thank the Lord for the time I had,

To tell you that you were a super Dad.

You're with Him now in all of His glory,

Probably known as the Angel always telling a story.

I hope soemhow, someway you can see,

That you'll always be a part of me.

We had our moments, but when it's all said and done,

I couldn't be prouder to be your son.
