GROVE CITY — Karns City linebacker Aaron Markle was named MVP of the South team in the 20th annual West Penn Football Coaches Association All-Star Game played Saturday night at Forker Field.

Markle had nine tackles and a fumble recovery in the South's 24-0 loss to the North.

Moniteau's James Shope had an interception and Union linebacker Brennan Bliss had six tackles for the South. Grove City's Leonard Howard intercepted a pass for the North.

Farrell's Dion Eliam, who caught a 78-yard touchdown pass, was MVP for the North.

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks have officially named Larry Drew as their new head coach.The Hawks made the announcement Sunday, two days after The Associated Press and several other news organizations reported the team was closing in on an agreement with Mike Woodson's top assistant. This is Drew's first head coaching job.Woodson coached the Hawks for six seasons but was fired last month after a second-round sweep by the Orlando Magic.

DALLAS — Police say Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young received an assault citation after an altercation inside a Dallas strip club, but no arrests were made.Dallas police Lt. Andy Harvey said the former University of Texas star was not at Club Onyx when police responded to a call of a physical confrontation early Sunday morning.Harvey said an investigation led to Young receiving a Class C assault citation, punishable by a fine up to $500.

CHICAGO — Finally, a championship celebration at Wrigley Field.The Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks paraded around the old ballpark to loud cheers during a ceremony before the Chicago Cubs' game against the crosstown White Sox on Sunday night.The Blackhawks, who beat the Flyers in Game 6 on Wednesday night in Philadelphia to claim their first championship since 1961, hoisted the Cup, passed it among themselves, and high-fived fans as they made their way around Wrigley.The crowd booed when he passed it off to White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen.
